COURSE TITLE:                     Hate Speech: The Power of Words

COURSE DESCRIPTION:         This is a literature course devoted to the study of the affect that written, spoken, and oral language has on society.  Students will dissect texts in terms of figurative language, imagery, symbolism, characterization, and looking closely at theme to gather an understanding of how we are shaped by the words we speak and hear.
